About
Twenty years of hands-on work with clients' bodies—that's what's taught me how muscle memory works, how stress lives in the shoulders and lower back, and how the right pressure at the right moment can shift everything. I came to this field through real study: the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, where I learned the flowing, intuitive side of bodywork; the McKinnen Institute in Oakland for additional certification; and then advanced neuromuscular training at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy. But what shaped me most was working with men—understanding their physicality through my own background in bodybuilding and training.
I'm JohnPaul, and I work out of my private garden studio in San Francisco, California. My space is warm, quiet, and feels a world away from the city noise. The massage table is heated, the sheets are soft flannel, and I keep the lights low with music that actually helps you relax instead of distract you. There's private off-street parking, so you can pull right in without circling the block.
What I do is blend techniques to fit exactly what your body needs. Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Trigger Point work, Sports massage, Esalen, and Lomi Lomi—I'm trained in all of them, and I use them in combination rather than in isolation. If you carry tension in your neck but need deep work on your legs, I adjust. If you're recovering from athletic strain, I know where to look. I finish longer sessions with a hot, relaxing shower and use blended oils that your skin will thank you for.
I welcome regular clients and new clients equally. I also work mobile throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding regions within a 50-mile radius, so if you'd rather have me come to you, that's an option. Beyond massage, I offer one-on-one personal fitness training, meditation coaching, nutrition consulting, and personal coaching for men looking to hit their goals.
I'm LGBTQ+-friendly, welcoming to all races and nationalities. Text me directly with questions about rates, availability, or outcall service—I'm here to answer everything.

Testimonials
I've seen JohnPaul four times at this point, and each visit has been outstanding. From the moment I pull into his private garden parking, the stress starts lifting. He greets me warmly every single time with a genuine smile. His massage techniques are outstanding, and there's real magic in the way he works. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment.
JohnPaul is a real pro—responsive, skilled, and genuinely polite. I've booked multiple 90-minute sessions over the past year and a half, and he's never disappointed once. Your visit starts in a private, gated off-street parking area where JohnPaul meets you. He welcomes you into his home and takes time to understand what your massage should address—whether that's general body pain, stress and tension, or athletic soreness. Then you get on the table and the real work begins. JohnPaul uses his training, technique, oils, relaxing music, and exceptionally strong hands to move you into deep relaxation. From start to finish, he's completely locked in, reading your body and adjusting both pressure and technique. He's a genuine gentleman who takes pride in keeping everything clean, professional, and comfortable. You never feel rushed; time seems to pause. After every massage I've left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and frankly like a new person. Book time with JohnPaul and experience it yourself. I always look forward to my next one.
I've had massage work before and know what lingers when you find a therapist with real technique. JohnPaul's touch was refreshing and rejuvenating in a way that stood out. He has a welcoming manner, and his professional skill from beginning to end made the whole experience relaxing and meaningful. The oils he uses are therapeutic, and I chose to keep them on my skin.
JohnPaul remains my favorite massage therapist in the area. Sometimes it's tough to get in on short notice, but booking ahead is always worth it. The space is warm, comfortable, and has private parking. The music is great, and his table is top-notch. He's also a genuinely nice person. I always leave completely relaxed. He's a first-class professional.
I just experienced my first session with JohnPaul, and I'm genuinely blown away. He's exceptionally talented and caring in his work. The studio sits in a beautiful garden with private parking right at the entrance where he greeted me warmly. The massage space itself is gorgeous, and the whole experience felt heavenly. He had the heated table running on that chilly day, soft music playing throughout, and his hands are some of the best I've felt. Every detail felt comforting and effective. The whole visit was a five-star experience, and I'm coming back soon.
JohnPaul is simply the best. I normally skip the 2-hour option, but I decided to treat myself this time, and it was completely worth the investment. He responds to messages quickly, the garden parking is convenient, the house and studio are beautiful, and the massage itself was expertly executed. His touch has real power to it. I'm now a regular, and I'm grateful.
JohnPaul is a truly skilled masseur. This is my third or fourth session with him, and I'm hooked on what he offers. Private parking, a garden entrance that's beautiful, a great table, and he makes me feel at home immediately. Before each session he checks in to see if any new aches have appeared, and he's masterful at finding the tight spots. Strong, soothing, and excellent—that's what every session with him delivers. I drive up from San Jose, and yes, he's worth that trip.
JohnPaul gives a five-star experience. I see him once a month and haven't been let down yet. The private massage room is warm and comfortable with parking outside, music playing, a heated table, and John always makes you feel welcome. He's attentive to safety protocols that make you feel cared for and protected. He reads your body and goes deep where it's needed while using relaxing, nurturing techniques elsewhere. I drifted off during the session. A hot towel finish and his music selection sealed the deal. After several great massages, I felt I should leave a review.
After my first massage with JohnPaul yesterday, I feel fantastic. He's warm, welcoming, and delivers a genuinely excellent massage from start to finish. His garden-entrance studio with private parking was perfect—I appreciated that convenience driving in from Alameda. The work itself was deep, engaging, and absolutely right for what I needed. I'm calling myself a regular client now.
