About
Twenty-nine years of working with bodies has taught me that safety, presence, and intuition matter more than technique alone. I came through Twin Lakes School of the Healing Arts here in Santa Cruz—twice, actually, because I kept learning. Later I trained at Body Electric in Berkeley. All those hours with clients have shown me that when you slow down and listen to what someone's body is asking for, the relief comes naturally.
I've built my practice around real care. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ community and its allies because I believe massage should be a space where you feel completely at ease, no matter who you are or what your body looks like. I'm fully vaccinated for Covid and Monkeypox. My studio in Santa Cruz is clean, private, and calm—the kind of place where your nervous system can actually settle.
I work with Swedish massage, deep tissue, and acupressure. What that means is your session gets shaped by what your muscles need in that moment, not a preset script. Neck tension, low back pain, the aches that come from sitting or traveling or just living—I know how to work those out. Your spirit relaxes into quiet when your body releases what's been holding it tight.
I also come to you. I travel to San Jose, Monterey, Carmel, and Salinas with my heated table and music. Same quality work, same attention to what you need. Whether you're visiting Santa Cruz after a day at the beach or you're too busy to leave your hotel, I can help you feel like yourself again.

I could feel from your first touch that you know what you're doing. My body let go completely, and the whole experience was pure bliss.
Curt fit me in on short notice despite my crazy schedule. His studio feels like a place of quiet peace. The massage was everything I hoped for—I came in with serious low back pain and left relaxed and pain-free. I'll be back soon.
I was really nervous about getting a massage, especially from a male therapist for the first time. But you made me feel completely comfortable the moment we met.
Your studio felt so warm and comfortable. I came in apprehensive, never having had a massage from a man before, but you put me at ease within minutes. I'll book another session when I'm back for the holidays.
I've had this condition for years. Thanks to the way you read my body and your sensitivity to me as a person, I got relief I didn't think was possible.
Getting the logistics worked out was simple. I wanted an intuitive, easing massage after traveling before starting work the next morning. You made me feel genuinely looked after throughout. Exactly what I needed on a business trip.
I'd seen you before the pandemic and always got exactly what I needed. You made me feel safe by following Covid guidelines carefully. That let me relax into your work and really benefit from the massage. Thanks for that.
From our first conversation to your thoughtful follow-up text, you showed real warmth and sincerity. The massage itself was excellent. I'll be back soon.
I felt comfortable with Curt right away. His warmth set the tone for a deeply relaxing 90-minute session. I was worried about safety during Covid, but the cleanliness, protocols, air purifier, and his calm confidence let me actually relax and forget my stress. I'm coming back.
Your hands worked so effectively that my neck and shoulders released in minutes. The massage felt intuitive, responding exactly to what my body was holding. I'll definitely be back.
You fit me in on short notice, and I walked in feeling at ease right away. Your work was professional and thorough—it's clear you care deeply about what you do. Looking forward to my next visit to Santa Cruz.
I was uncertain about getting a massage in my hotel room—it was my first time with an outcall. The convenience was worth the extra cost. Curt showed up prepared and on time with his table and music. By the end I'd forgotten the day's tension and slept soundly.
Hemasseur's Take
Clients consistently highlight Curt's warmth, professionalism, and intuitive ability to read and release specific tension—particularly in the neck, shoulders, and lower back. Many testimonials emphasize feeling immediately comfortable and safe with him, especially first-time massage clients and those who were initially nervous, and several note that his careful attention to hygiene and Covid protocols during the pandemic allowed them to truly relax and trust the experience.
His willingness to accommodate same-day bookings and mobile appointments to different cities has also earned strong feedback from business travelers and out-of-town visitors seeking convenience without sacrificing quality.

FAQ
How much does a massage cost in Santa Cruz?
A 60-minute session in my studio is $100, and 90 minutes is $140. Mobile appointments (I travel within 50 miles) are $150 for 60 minutes and $190 for 90. Both include acupressure, deep tissue, and Swedish work tailored to what your body needs that day.
Do you offer same-day appointments in Santa Cruz?
Yes, I do take same-day bookings when my schedule allows. I'm available 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, so reach out and we can often make it work, especially if you're visiting or dealing with unexpected pain.
Is there a mobile massage therapist in Santa Cruz?
I offer mobile massage throughout Santa Cruz and surrounding areas within a 50-mile radius, including San Jose, Monterey, Carmel, and Salinas. I arrive with a heated table, music, and everything you need for a full spa-quality session in your space.
What's the difference between your Swedish and deep tissue massages?
Swedish massage uses longer, flowing strokes and is great for relaxation and general tension. Deep tissue goes deeper into the muscle layers to release chronic tightness. I combine both techniques—acupressure too—based on what feels right for your body in that moment, so you get exactly what you need.
Do you specialize in massage for any particular group?
I specialize in providing massage to the LGBTQ community and its allies. I treat all body types and ages equally, and my studio is a space where you can feel genuinely safe and cared for. Compassion is central to my work.
How experienced is Curt?
I've been practicing massage for 29 years, with training from Twin Lakes School of the Healing Arts in Santa Cruz and Body Electric in Berkeley. That experience means I can read what your body is asking for and adjust on the fly to give you real relief.
What amenities are included in your studio?
My Santa Cruz studio is fully handicapped accessible with a heated massage table, aromatherapy, soft music, bottled and drinking water, and free parking. It's designed to feel like a quiet sanctuary where you can actually relax.
How do you ensure safety during massage?
Safety is always first. I'm fully vaccinated for Covid and Monkeypox. My studio is clean and private, with excellent air circulation. Mobile sessions are equally safe and hygienic. You'll feel secure from the moment you arrive.
