About

Your body holds onto tension in ways you can't release on your own. That's the core belief driving everything I do here in Santa Monica.

I've spent eight years working with athletes, desk workers, gym regulars, and people carrying stress in their muscles and fascia. I used to work on a pro baseball team, and that experience taught me what real deep work looks like. When you're trying to keep someone performing at a high level, you learn fast how to break down knots, release inflammation, and get fresh blood flow moving through areas that have been locked up for months.

My technique is something I've developed over those years. It's not just one thing—it's a combination. I blend deep tissue work with Rolfing to get under the muscle fibers themselves, add trigger point release to break up those pressure points, bring in lomi lomi (those long therapeutic strokes that really stretch out your spine and back), and finish with physical therapy stretching. That way I can manipulate your muscle groups, address joint pain or fluid buildup in tight fibers and tendons, and make sure your alignment, core, hip flexors, and posture are actually even.

The key is using my body weight to release pressure from yours. No amount of stretching you do at home compares to another person's body mass working with your core. I'm breaking down toxins and fluid buildup that accumulate from the gym or life stress. Your muscles get fresh oxygen and blood flow, acid and inflammatory fluids get flushed out, and you walk out with real movement and recovery.

I work both in my Santa Monica studio and mobile throughout the area. Cash, PayPal, and Venmo all work for payment.

FAQ

What's the difference between Rolfing and deep tissue massage?

Rolfing works specifically on muscle fibers and fascia underneath the muscle, targeting knots and restrictions that regular deep tissue can't reach. In my sessions, I use both techniques together—the deep tissue opens the area, then Rolfing dives deeper into the structural work. You get more complete release.

How much does a massage cost in Santa Monica?

My 30-minute studio sessions are $80, which is significantly below the Santa Monica average. I also offer mobile service to your home or office if that works better for your schedule.

Do you offer mobile massage in Santa Monica?

Yes. I provide mobile massage therapy serving Santa Monica and surrounding areas. You can book either in my studio or have me come to you.

What massage technique is best for tight muscles from the gym?

Sports massage combined with trigger point work breaks down the inflammation and knots that build up from heavy training. I add PT stretching at the end so you leave with better movement and faster recovery.

Can massage help with shoulder and posture problems?

Absolutely. I focus on alignment and postural structure—checking that your shoulders, core, and hip flexors are properly aligned. Rolfing and lomi lomi are especially effective for releasing the upper back, rhomboids, and rotator cuff tension that causes posture issues.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, PayPal, and Venmo. When you're ready to book, just let me know which works best for you.

From the Hemasseur Team

Sean is a massage therapist in Santa Monica, California with 8 years of experience and a background working with professional athletes. His specialty is a custom-developed sport combo technique that integrates Rolfing, trigger point release, lomi lomi, and physical therapy stretching into one session. Rather than treating these as separate modalities, he layers them strategically—using his body weight to access deep fascia, break down inflammation and fluid buildup, and restore proper alignment through the core, hips, and shoulders. He serves Santa Monica and surrounding areas through both studio and mobile appointments.

Clients who benefit most from Sean's work are athletes and active people dealing with chronic knots and restricted movement, desk workers carrying postural tension, and anyone whose self-stretching hasn't moved the needle. His approach targets the structural restrictions most surface massage can't reach.
