About
Over 20 years of hands-on bodywork has taught me what the body really needs. I've spent two decades learning to listen through my hands, training first at the McKinnon Institute in Oakland, then deepening my craft under a lomi kumu and physical therapist right here on Maui at Hale Ho'omana. That combination—Western anatomy and Hawaiian lineage—shapes everything I do.
I'm Tim, a lomi lomi therapist and bodyworker now based in Haiku, serving this part of Maui and willing to travel to Wailea or Lahaina with my table. My cottage studio sits in the lush jungle just east of the airport near Pa'ia, where you can feel the old Hawaii the moment you walk in. Windows open. Trade winds. That atmosphere matters.
Lomi lomi is where my heart is, but I work with what your body asks for. Kua lua—using leg power on the glutes, hips, and hamstrings—has created what clients call miracles for lower back and sciatic pain. I blend in deep tissue, hot stone, reflexology, myofascial release, shiatsu, and jin shin do. My approach is thorough for specific problem areas while staying balanced across your entire body, whatever your frame.
I work with everyone. I'm especially welcoming to the LGBTQ community. I also offer body scrubs, meditation coaching, nutrition consulting, and yoga instruction if that fits what you're after.
One thing I ask: be real with me. Serious inquiries from people who respect their own time and mine. Vacations happen, I get it. But if flakiness is your pattern, this probably isn't the fit. I channel pure lomi lineage in my work, and that calls for presence.

Tim is an extraordinary massage therapist. His lomi lomi technique delivers a top-notch experience, and he's also intuitive—he knows which areas need attention without being told. The best massage therapists combine technical skill with genuine intuition, and Tim has both in full measure. After 25 years of regular massages and running spas at resorts around the world, I can say with confidence that Tim is right at the top. You'll feel 100% better after he works on you.
I visit Tim whenever I'm on Maui, and during my last trip I was dealing with sciatic pain in my right hip and leg. His 90-minute massage completely eliminated that pain, and the relief lasted about three weeks. His studio feels like being in a house surrounded by trees, with open windows and a wonderful breeze. Plus the massage itself is exceptional. He's very professional and his location on Maui is something special. You'd be missing out if you don't book with him.
Thanks to Tim for a fantastic massage session. My muscles feel great now, and the hip flexibility exercise he shared has been really helpful. His skill is obvious.
