About
Eighteen years of work in Chicago has taught me what most therapists figure out too late: you can't separate the muscles from the person using them. I've built my practice around that simple truth.
I spent over 20 years in bodybuilding, and that foundation shaped everything I do now. I understand how athletes and active people move, where their bodies hold tension, and what real recovery feels like. When someone comes in stiff from the gym or tight from desk work, I don't just treat the symptom. I find what's driving it.
I'm trained in deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point work, and Swedish technique. I studied at Cortiva in Chicago from 2007 to 2008, and I've been refining my approach ever since. My hands are strong, and I know how to use that strength with precision. Clients tell me I can find the knots they didn't even know were there. The pressure is never harsh. It's exactly what you need.
I work in-studio here in Chicago and also serve clients throughout the area. I take real pride in my work, and I've built a list of loyal clients who keep coming back. You can be one of them. Text me to schedule, and let's get you feeling good.
Testimonials
After being told I had a pinched nerve in my lower back, I could barely move. Ross worked on the locked-up area and I felt pain relief during the session itself, but the real change came the next day—almost completely better. Highly recommended.
I got a deep tissue therapeutic massage from Ross and can't speak highly enough of it. He's a gentle giant with incredible strength and know-how, but combines that with gentleness and genuine care. He really heard what I needed and zeroed in on the areas that needed the most work. I left both relaxed and totally comfortable. If you want a therapist who's powerful yet calming, this is your place.
I've had many different styles of massage in my life, and I can say without hesitation that Ross is simply the best. I booked a 90-minute session that actually went longer. He welcomed me into his space, showed me to his dedicated massage room, and asked about problem areas before we started. He's a tall, strong guy with big hands that cover a lot of ground, but what impressed me most was his focus on the smaller areas that needed special attention. He has the skill, training, and dedication—and on top of all that, a genuinely upbeat personality that made me feel very welcome. You really are the best.
Ross gives the best massage and is an all-around great person. This was my third or fourth time and I'm still amazed how good you feel the next day. I'll keep coming back regularly.
Just had my second massage and I'm already looking forward to the third. You listen and pay attention to what I need. Your hands are strong yet soothing, giving me both healing and relaxation at the same time. You found exactly the right spots without me having to point them out. Beyond your skills with your hands, your personality and conversation are equally impressive. If you're looking for a go-to massage therapist in the Chicago area, this is the place.
Thank you for the best massage of my life. I feel so much better and I'm making this a monthly appointment. Tyler.
About a week after I pinched a nerve in my lower back, I went to see Ross. My body felt completely locked up and moving around was a struggle. He knew exactly what to do, found the problem spots without me saying a word, and gave me stretches to do at home. I feel so much better now and I'm booking regularly. Thanks for everything.
Best massage in Chicago. My back hasn't felt this good in years. I'm going to make this a regular thing because my body needs it. Thank you.
I've had plenty of massages around Chicago, but yours is my favorite. The pressure throughout is just right—strong enough to actually work, but not so much that I'm in pain the whole time or feeling like I wasted money. I also love that you find the tight spots without me having to tell you. The space is clean and nice too. See you in a couple weeks.
The weight and pressure throughout was exactly what I needed. My lower back has never felt better. I'll be back soon. Thank you.
A friend pointed me toward Ross for therapeutic massage, and I'm so glad. I've had lower back issues for a while, and his work made a huge difference. The pressure he uses is exactly what I needed. He explained which muscles were causing my pain and taught me stretches to do throughout my workday. I'm feeling much better and grateful I found him.
Had my first massage with you today and it definitely won't be the last. Finally found someone who gives the deep pressure I want. You're a nice guy and you find the tight spots that you didn't even realize needed work. Highly recommend.
Great positive energy and you clearly know what you're doing. I like firm pressure but I have a couple injuries I was nervous about. Sometimes after a massage you feel like it was too much or too little, but you talked through my problem areas and knew exactly where to work hard and where to help me heal. Great experience.
Hands down the best massage of my life. You found all my knots and worked them out while making me completely relax on the table. As a bodybuilder I'm always cautious with new therapists because I need serious pressure, but you delivered all of that and more. So happy I found you. Thanks Ross.
The best therapeutic massage in the city. Thank you Ross.
One of the best massages I've had. You got my back feeling so much better, and the gym exercises you suggested have helped a ton. Thank you.
Friendly from the moment I walked in, and within 30 seconds on the table I knew this was going to be an excellent massage. As someone still very active in martial arts and the gym, I appreciated how well you read my body. The pressure and rhythm down my back was perfect. I extended my session from 60 to 90 minutes after just five minutes because I could tell this was worth the extra time. You identified the muscle groups that needed focus and worked them intelligently. The next day I was a bit sore, but when I hit the gym, my muscles felt different in the best way—no longer tight and contracted, but fluid and ready to move. Three days later and the benefits are still there. I live on the West Coast now but every time I'm in Chicago I'll be calling you. That was an incredible massage.
I got a 60-minute deep tissue massage and wish I'd booked 90 minutes. One of the best massages ever—didn't want it to end. You worked out all the knots from sitting at my desk all day and even found spots in my lower back that have been bothering me forever. Already booked my next session and can't wait. Thanks so much.

Is there a mobile massage therapist serving Chicago?
Yes, Ross offers both in-studio and mobile massage services throughout Chicago and surrounding areas. Text to schedule, and he'll arrange a time that works for your location.
What's the best massage for lower back pain?
Deep tissue and trigger point massage are highly effective for lower back pain, especially when the therapist knows which muscles are causing the tightness. Ross specializes in finding those spots and using sustained pressure and myofascial release to break up tension. Many clients report significant relief after a single session.
Can I book a same-day appointment in Chicago?
Ross's hours run 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Text to check availability for same-day or next-day appointments. He typically accommodates requests when his schedule allows.

Yes, sports massage is one of his core offerings, and his 20+ years in bodybuilding means he understands what athletes' bodies need. He works with people recovering from workouts, managing muscle tightness, and preparing for or bouncing back from training or competition.
What's the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage?
Swedish massage uses longer, lighter strokes and focuses on relaxation and stress relief. Deep tissue uses slower, more sustained pressure to reach muscle tension beneath the surface. Ross offers both, and he'll recommend which suits your goals—or blend them into a single session.
