About
Twenty years in this field has taught me that the body speaks a language most people never learned to listen to. I started out as a competitive athlete, chasing performance and pushing limits, until I realized that true strength came from understanding how my body actually worked. That curiosity led me down a path of study that never really stopped. I trained in Taoist massage and bodywork at the Tao Holistic Massage School in Sedona, Arizona, finishing my certification in 2005. Since then, I've added layers to my toolkit: traditional western massage, oriental medicine, Tai Chi, Aikido, Muay Thai, Thai massage, yoga schools, and more. In 2014, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher certification through South Boston Yoga in Boston. I started MindfulMoves in 2015 to bring all of this together, and I've been teaching and training people nationally and internationally ever since.
These days, I work with clients throughout Winthrop and surrounding areas, traveling to you with my table and music. Every session is built around what your body needs in that moment. Maybe you're dealing with tight muscles and need strong hands working deep into the knots, or maybe you're carrying stress in your shoulders and need someone who can guide you through breathing, movement, and stretch work in tandem with massage. I blend acupressure, deep tissue, myofascial release, Thai techniques, shiatsu, reflexology, and other modalities depending on what feels right.
I also offer meditation coaching, personal training, yoga instruction, and physical therapy work for clients who want to go deeper. Advanced programs are available by request. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing chronic tension, or just trying to feel better in your own skin, I'm here to help you understand what your body is trying to tell you.

Took a chance on a relatively unknown profile and couldn't be happier with the choice. Michael is a true healer with exceptionally strong hands, sharp intuition, and a real mastery of massage technique earned through serious training and practice. He's also a genuinely kind person. Already planning my next appointment, and I'd expect many five-star reviews from his other clients going forward.
