About
Over two decades of hands-on work with more than 2,000 clients has taught me something most people discover too late: the body remembers every knot, every strain, every moment of stress you've pushed through. That's where I come in.
I'm Rob, a licensed massage therapist in Columbia, South Carolina (SC License #13561), and I've spent the last 20 years learning how to read what your muscles are telling me—often before you can fully put it into words yourself. Whether you're dealing with chronic pain from years of construction work, tension from sitting at a desk all day, or you're an athlete looking to stay sharp, I've worked with clients across every walk of life and condition you can imagine.
My approach blends therapeutic relaxation with rehabilitative compression work, techniques I've uniquely developed over my career. I move fluidly between gentle aromatherapy-enhanced strokes and deep, purposeful pressure—whatever your body needs that day. I don't make promises I can't keep, and I won't push you into pain or sell you upgrades you don't need. What I will do is listen to your medical history, craft a real plan, and use my hands to help you heal.
My studio is located on the second floor in the 29209 area, offering a simple, clean, and calming space with a heated massage table, soft music, and aromatherapy. I also offer mobile massage therapy, coming to you if that works better with your schedule. All sessions are by appointment—I recommend booking in advance so we can give your recovery the time it deserves.
If you're active military or a retired veteran, I offer discounts. Cash and all major credit cards accepted. Fair pricing, real results, no nonsense.

Testimonials
I've been working with Rob for over three years and he's the best I've ever worked with. He's not a spa-style masseur—he knows how to heal pain. I've lived with Parkinson's and fibromyalgia for over a decade and have seen countless doctors, chiropractors, and other massage therapists. None came close to the pain relief and restored function Rob provides through twice-monthly sessions. Before him, chronic pain kept me awake most nights. A friend recommended him. He greeted me professionally, went over my medical history, and created a recovery plan. On the table, the massage was complex and deeply relaxing. His hands did things I'd never felt before. Every area of tension he found, he released, constantly checking in about my pain level—a first for me. That night I slept without waking in pain for the first time in years. After three years with Rob, I have almost no pain and stopped taking a couple pain and muscle medications. I feel blessed to have him keeping me functional. I don't know where I'd be without him. If you're in pain, try Rob. He's truly something special.
I worked with Rob for over seven years when he was in Florida. I was 71 when we met, struggling with high blood pressure and severe chronic back and neck pain from years in construction. That pain made me depressed because I couldn't do the things I loved like tennis and golf. I was hesitant to book with him at first, but a friend recommended him and I decided to try. His demeanor was completely professional. He did a detailed medical intake and asked thoughtful questions about my issues without making any promises or guarantees. I booked 60 minutes but extended to 90 because the session was so exceptional. His 10 years in the field really showed—he moved effortlessly between feather-light strokes and deep, rigorous pressure in a way I'd never experienced. The best massage I'd ever had. No upselling, no extras, no product pushing. His office was simple and utilitarian. The aromatherapy was subtle and used just right for relaxation and finishing. When I got off the table, my back and neck—which had hurt for years—simply didn't hurt. I could turn and twist fully for the first time in three years. He warned me about soreness the next few days, which came, but it was different from other deep massages that left me in pain. This relief lasted. I booked twice a month after that and got back into sports and hobbies. My blood pressure resolved itself, which my doctor said was from losing the chronic pain. I can't recommend Rob enough if you're dealing with chronic pain. He won't sell you false hopes. He's medical-grade massage therapy, and if he can help you, he will.
I started seeing Rob recently and it's absolutely worth it. As a middle-aged remote worker who's not as active as I should be, I decided to get professional help and I'm so glad I did. Rob is polite, courteous, and professional with great technique. Within five minutes he figured out my knots and tension without me saying anything. The relief after his session is wonderful, and knowing I can go back for a recharge in a couple weeks keeps me going. If you're hesitant like I was, just reach out—you won't regret it. He's easy to talk to, attentive throughout, and works in a nice clean studio. He's really talented and a great find. (RJ)
Hemasseur's Take
Clients credit Rob with delivering lasting relief from chronic pain conditions—including construction injuries, Parkinson's disease, and fibromyalgia—that other therapists failed to address. His ability to read muscle tension within minutes, adjust pressure intuitively, and check in throughout the session without overselling or making false promises has helped clients reduce or eliminate pain medications, return to sports and hobbies, and sleep through the night for the first time in years.
The consistency across testimonials points to a therapist who treats massage as a medical discipline rather than a spa experience—clients describe his technique as exceptionally skilled, his demeanor as professional and reassuring, and his long-term results as transformative enough that people sought him out repeatedly across multiple states and years.
