About
Twenty-four years working hands-on with clients has taught me what really works. I started at the San Francisco School of Massage back in 2000, learning Swedish technique from the ground up. Then I spent time at the McKinnon Institute studying sports massage and deep tissue work, and I've kept going back to McKinnon to sharpen my clinical skills—most recently in 2019. That ongoing learning matters because every body tells a different story.
I'm Andrew, a California-Certified Massage Therapist (CAMTC #83891) in Emeryville, working with clients in my studio and also serving Emeryville and surrounding areas. What I've found over nearly two and a half decades is that athletes and active people respond beautifully to focused, intelligent work. Whether you're recovering from a specific injury, dealing with an old problem that never quite healed, or looking to perform better, I know how to find those trouble spots with my palms, forearms, elbows, and knuckles without unnecessary pain.
I work with lotion and oil on a massage table, and I use deep tissue, sports massage, Swedish, and trigger point techniques depending on what your body needs. But I also know that not everyone wants or needs high-intensity work. If you're looking for genuine relaxation and stress relief, I can absolutely provide that too. Everyone walks through my door—all genders, body types, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and ages—and I meet you where you are.
I offer a sports recovery package of four massages for the price of three. For people interested in regular work, custom packages are available. Text or email is best for scheduling.

Testimonials
I rode in the 2025 AIDS Lifecycle and developed significant tightness in my glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves. Andrew has exceptional skills for working with cyclists, and I truly valued the care he provided. Through multiple sessions, he helped me return to normal function. I recommend him highly.
I came to Andrew after aggravating an old soccer injury in my lower back. He took time to find exactly where the issues were and worked them out in different positions. I highly recommend him.
Great massage. I've been suffering from neck pain caused by poor posture and office work, which Andrew worked on specifically with drastic improvement. I'd especially recommend him if you're looking for therapeutic massage.
I have a repetitive strain injury in both shoulder cuffs that limits my range of motion and prevents me from weight training. I'd been to Andrew a few times before and respected his technique, so I started regular sessions. With Andrew's help, we made progress. I recently began physical therapy and asked the PT what Andrew should work on. The PT suggested exactly what Andrew had attempted to address. Between physical therapy and Andrew's deep tissue and sports massage, I feel like I'm making real progress. He knows what he's doing.
I've been searching for a massage therapist who can do very specific work on my neck and upper body. I've been in considerable pain and unable to work fully as a massage therapist myself. I booked an hour with Andrew focused only on my upper body. He delivered a fantastic balance of deep work with specificity on muscles and attachment sites, avoiding the common mistake of using deep tissue as a blunt force. I've booked two more appointments because I'm convinced he has the skills to help me overcome my neck pain.
I've been going to Andrew since before the pandemic and was eager to see him again once he reopened after vaccinations. I cycle daily and get tightness in my legs and glutes that sometimes makes cycling difficult. I appreciate how Andrew adjusts to my schedule, including providing focused 30-minute lower body massages during my work breaks. He's skilled at stretching my legs and finding the right pressure to relieve that tightness. He takes time to understand exactly what's going on with me, and each session feels personal. If you're an athlete dealing with muscle tightness affecting your performance, I highly recommend him.
I started seeing Andrew regularly after getting vaccinated. I was initially looking for a female therapist, but a friend recommended him, so I gave him a try. I'm a runner with low back and ankle pain that was hurting my runs. Andrew patiently focused on exactly where I was having trouble and methodically found muscles and attachment sites contributing to my pain. The work is intense and very deep, especially in sensitive areas, but Andrew checks in to make sure the work is both effective and manageable. He finishes with gentle neck work that leaves me feeling fantastic. If you're an athlete wanting someone on your team, I highly recommend him.
I had my first session with Andrew today, and it was worth the wait. I received an excellent massage. His therapeutic work was intentional, focused, and fluid. His hands are very powerful—perfect if you love deep tissue. As a massage therapist myself, I recommend him without reservation. Andrew is skilled and knowledgeable. I can't wait for my next two-hour session.
Self-care is a key part of living well, and regular massage has been central to my routine for years. Seven years ago my longtime masseur moved, and I faced a difficult search for someone equally attuned to my needs. I tried many people without finding the right fit until I found Drew. His dedication to excellent care showed immediately—he rearranged his schedule to fit me in the evening before a vacation rather than asking me to wait. His massage was exceptional. Drew's charm is matched only by his massage skills. I felt totally at ease and knew right away I'd found someone truly gifted. I booked a second session and then splurged on a two-hour follow-up as a treat for myself. Drew made me feel incredible. I'm as comfortable as if we've known each other for decades, and his approach to my chronic issues is exactly right. Drew is the real deal and the best masseur I've found in my long search.
I've been seeing Andrew for years and always get an excellent deep tissue massage. Recently I strained my shoulder playing tennis and booked a 90-minute session to focus on that area. Andrew worked through his full range of techniques and by the end I felt a real reduction in pain. I was able to play tennis without pain a few days later. His combination of intuition and skill made a real difference.
I had painful knots in my right shoulder and shoulder blade, plus pain running down my arm from a pinched nerve in my neck. Andrew spent most of an hour and a half session working on these problem areas. I felt relief immediately after the first visit and was completely pain-free for the first time in two months after the second session. Andrew is genuinely gifted, and I'd recommend him without hesitation.
I've seen Drew a few times over the years, and more recently I had specific pain issues that needed attention. I was having acute back pain and visited another local masseur while Drew was away, who gave me some relief but no insight. When I returned to Drew, his intuitive hands, keen observation, and clear communication helped identify a possible cause, and he recommended I check with my chiropractor about ribs that seemed out of place. He was right. Every session with Drew leaves me relaxed and better than when I arrived. His continued learning combined with his years of experience means he can address problems with multiple techniques, and I really appreciate how he pays specific attention to what's happening with my body at that moment. It's never the same cookie-cutter massage.
I've been going to Andrew for years and drive across the bridge because he's that good. I've had several shoulder surgeries from sports injuries in my 20s, and we've been focusing on my shoulder cuffs to improve my range of motion and reduce ongoing pain. He's brought both skill and research to these sessions, and after several weeks I feel much greater range of motion and significantly less pain. I appreciate that he took the time to understand my shoulders and find different ways to help. These targeted massages alongside physical therapy have made a very positive impact.
I've been dealing with a shoulder injury that progressed to frozen shoulder, and I'm seeing both a chiropractor and physical therapist. I started regular massage with Andrew in October. My physical therapist noticed real improvement in my range of motion after just a few sessions and asked what I was doing. When I mentioned Andrew's sessions, they commented on the care, intensity, and skill he brings to his work and said they could measure the difference. Andrew is worth trying if you have an injury like mine.
I tore my adductor playing football, and while physical therapy helped me get stronger, Andrew's work did the most for my healing. His range of techniques worked better than anything else I tried. Other massages helped, but Andrew's expert touch and focused work on my injured tendons and muscles made the real difference—I got my range of motion back and was able to return to snowboarding within the season.
I came to Andrew with a shoulder rotator cuff injury. He repositioned me in multiple ways to address the issue, and by the end of the session I had much greater range of motion. He really helped me get back on the tennis court. I was impressed by his skill and determination to help me and highly recommend him.
Drew is a very professional, skilled, and experienced massage therapist. I arrived with several specific issues, and he intuitively found every tight, sore spot—some I didn't even know I had—then did deep, focused work that felt really necessary and very opening. I left able to breathe more deeply and move more easily than I have in a long time. His deep tissue work is excellent, and he clearly knows what he's doing. I'll be back.
