About
My training at the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork in 2013 taught me something that ten years of hands-on work has only deepened: the body speaks a language all its own, and learning to listen is everything. When you come in for a session, I'm not just applying technique—I'm reading what your tissues are telling me, understanding where you hold stress, and meeting your body exactly where it is that day.
I've spent the last decade working with clients across San Francisco who come in with tight shoulders from desk work, athletes recovering from injury, travelers with jet lag in their bones, and people simply looking to feel like themselves again. What I've learned is that one-size-fits-all massage doesn't work. Every body is different. Every day is different. That's why each session I do blends deep tissue work, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, sports massage, lymphatic drainage, and conscious breathwork into one experience that's both therapeutic and deeply relaxing.
My studio in the 94110 zip code is designed to feel safe and welcoming—a calm, private space where you can actually relax. The table is heated, the lighting is soft, and I keep the room quiet enough that you can hear yourself breathe. I also offer organic CBD massage therapy and organic arnica body oil serum massage therapy as enhancements, both $25 each, if you want extra support for sore muscles or deep tension.
I'm proud to serve San Francisco and the surrounding areas, offering both in-studio sessions and mobile massage. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly, I accept cash and Zelle, and I'm open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today. Since 2018 I've been recognized as a top massage therapist here—Book Local Community Choice Award winner, and a 2024 Top 10 therapist in San Francisco. But what matters most to me is how you feel when you walk out that door.

Testimonials
This was one of the best massages I've had. Hermann is exceptionally talented and consistently delivers excellent work. He's deeply attuned to the body and uses that awareness to locate and address problem areas. I spend most of my time working from home as a marketing consultant, which means I develop constant tension in my neck, shoulders, and back from sitting at my desk. Visiting Hermann's studio is always a wonderful experience, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking an excellent massage therapist.
I recently had a deep tissue massage from Hans and it was the best massage experience I've had. His demeanor was professional and welcoming from the moment I arrived. He took time to understand my specific needs and areas of tension before starting. His technique was masterful—he applied exactly the right amount of pressure, working through knots with precision and care. Unlike other massages, his approach was both therapeutic and deeply relaxing. I left feeling significantly less tense.
I don't write many reviews, but this guy is legit. I booked a 90-minute massage on Saturday after a stressful week and left an hour later feeling like a completely different person. If you want to treat yourself right, book time with this therapist.
If you're looking for a massage, Hermann Hans is your person. One of the best massages I've ever had. I'm seriously thinking about replacing my chiropractor appointments with sessions with him.
As a traveling healer who's worked across the Pacific Islands, China, and the USA, I can say Hans ranks in my top three therapists I've ever encountered. He's intuitive, confident, courteous, and creates a calming presence. After a brief assessment, he identified exactly what needed attention in my bodywork and corrected it. A 90-minute massage for $245 that relaxes, restores, and addresses body issues is exceptional value. I strongly encourage anyone considering his services to think about tipping based on what you felt the work was worth.
Perfect massage from start to finish. The space is easy to find and very comfortable. The massage was exactly what I needed—long strokes combined with trigger point work. He clearly knows his craft and loves doing it.
Hans has an incredible ability to read my body and locate where I hold stress. His hands are large, and his touch is strong, intuitive, and caring. His massage table and workspace are comfortable and warm. As a healthcare professional who's often emotionally exhausted after work, a massage from Hans leaves me feeling deeply restored.
This was my first session with Herman and I already feel so much relief. I had a baby recently and was hesitant about getting bodywork, but I wish I'd booked with him sooner. He worked every area I needed without unnecessary talk—I appreciate that. He worked deeper in areas that needed it, then flowed to other spots, circling back when needed. My massage felt way longer than the 90 minutes we scheduled. Take care of your body and you'll be so glad you did.
I had an incredible deep tissue massage with Hermann. He clearly understands the human body and can adjust pressure from deep work to lighter touch as needed. The session left me feeling transformed. I highly recommend him.
Hans gave me a therapeutic massage that was incredible. His hands find the spaces in your body that need the most attention like heat-seeking missiles and zero in on them. I left completely relaxed, and my body feels like butter. Highly recommend.
Most massages I've had have been good but rarely exceptional, especially on a last-minute booking. From the first touch to the last of my one-hour session, I was amazed by Hans's gift. He was completely in tune with my body and put his full strength and effort into the work. He's not an ordinary massage therapist and deserves recognition for his talent. You won't be disappointed.
Hemasseur's Take

His technique balances strength and sensitivity, leaving clients feeling deeply relaxed yet therapeutically treated, with many reporting that sessions deliver results comparable to multiple chiropractic visits.
Across reviews, people highlight his calm, welcoming presence, his warm and comfortable studio environment, and his gift for reading the body—finding problem areas that other therapists miss and working through them with the right amount of pressure and flow.

What techniques does Hans use for deep tissue massage in San Francisco?
I blend deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and conscious breathwork to release tension and restore mobility. Each session is customized to your body's specific needs and what you're experiencing that day.

What is CBD massage therapy and does it help with tension?
CBD massage therapy incorporates cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive hemp-derived compound, applied topically to encourage relaxation and comfort. It's available as a $25 add-on to any massage and pairs well with deep tissue or trigger point work.
What's the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage at your studio?
Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes to relax muscles and improve circulation, while deep tissue targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension. I blend both techniques in each session based on what your body needs.

Absolutely. I offer discounts for massage therapists as part of my professional community. Contact me to book and mention your profession to apply the discount.
