About

My training at the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork in 2013 taught me something that ten years of hands-on work has only deepened: the body speaks a language all its own, and learning to listen is everything. When you come in for a session, I'm not just applying technique—I'm reading what your tissues are telling me, understanding where you hold stress, and meeting your body exactly where it is that day.

I've spent the last decade working with clients across San Francisco who come in with tight shoulders from desk work, athletes recovering from injury, travelers with jet lag in their bones, and people simply looking to feel like themselves again. What I've learned is that one-size-fits-all massage doesn't work. Every body is different. Every day is different. That's why each session I do blends deep tissue work, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, sports massage, lymphatic drainage, and conscious breathwork into one experience that's both therapeutic and deeply relaxing.

My studio in the 94110 zip code is designed to feel safe and welcoming—a calm, private space where you can actually relax. The table is heated, the lighting is soft, and I keep the room quiet enough that you can hear yourself breathe. I also offer organic CBD massage therapy and organic arnica body oil serum massage therapy as enhancements, both $25 each, if you want extra support for sore muscles or deep tension.

I'm proud to serve San Francisco and the surrounding areas, offering both in-studio sessions and mobile massage. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly, I accept cash and Zelle, and I'm open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today. Since 2018 I've been recognized as a top massage therapist here—Book Local Community Choice Award winner, and a 2024 Top 10 therapist in San Francisco. But what matters most to me is how you feel when you walk out that door.

Testimonials

This was one of the best massages I've had. Hermann is exceptionally talented and consistently delivers excellent work. He's deeply attuned to the body and uses that awareness to locate and address problem areas. I spend most of my time working from home as a marketing consultant, which means I develop constant tension in my neck, shoulders, and back from sitting at my desk. Visiting Hermann's studio is always a wonderful experience, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking an excellent massage therapist.

I recently had a deep tissue massage from Hans and it was the best massage experience I've had. His demeanor was professional and welcoming from the moment I arrived. He took time to understand my specific needs and areas of tension before starting. His technique was masterful—he applied exactly the right amount of pressure, working through knots with precision and care. Unlike other massages, his approach was both therapeutic and deeply relaxing. I left feeling significantly less tense.

I don't write many reviews, but this guy is legit. I booked a 90-minute massage on Saturday after a stressful week and left an hour later feeling like a completely different person. If you want to treat yourself right, book time with this therapist.

A 60-minute session in my San Francisco studio is $205. I also offer 90-minute sessions for $245 and two-hour sessions for $285. Discounts are available for prepaid packages, repeat clients, and active military.

What techniques does Hans use for deep tissue massage in San Francisco?

I blend deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and conscious breathwork to release tension and restore mobility. Each session is customized to your body's specific needs and what you're experiencing that day.

Is there a mobile massage therapist serving San Francisco?

Yes, I offer both in-studio massage at my San Francisco location and mobile massage therapy serving San Francisco and surrounding areas. Contact me to schedule whichever option works best for you.

Does Hans offer same-day appointments in San Francisco?

I'm available today from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. for same-day bookings. For other days, contact me directly to check availability and find a time that works for your schedule.

What is CBD massage therapy and does it help with tension?

CBD massage therapy incorporates cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive hemp-derived compound, applied topically to encourage relaxation and comfort. It's available as a $25 add-on to any massage and pairs well with deep tissue or trigger point work.

What's the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage at your studio?

Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes to relax muscles and improve circulation, while deep tissue targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension. I blend both techniques in each session based on what your body needs.

Can I book a massage if I'm a massage therapist myself?

Absolutely. I offer discounts for massage therapists as part of my professional community. Contact me to book and mention your profession to apply the discount.

What makes your studio in San Francisco a good choice for a first massage?
