About

Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage, National Holistic Institute in Los Angeles, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine shaped how I approach bodywork. But it took 15 years of working with clients—over 20,000 hours in clinical settings—to understand what I now know: healing starts from the ground up.

I spent my first years doing table work, and then something shifted. I realized I couldn't truly engage with my clients the way I wanted to. The floor changed everything. Working on a Japanese massage mat lets me use my whole body, my weight, my energy in ways a table never could. When you're grounded, I'm grounded. That's where the real work happens.

I've never done the same massage twice. Every person who comes to my studio in San Francisco gets a completely customized experience. I pull from Thai, deep tissue, Swedish, shiatsu, sports massage, reflexology, cranial-sacral work, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, and trigger point therapy. I use hot towels, cooling treatments, and cupping. What matters is what your body needs on that day.

I work with injuries, chronic pain, athletes, people carrying stress in their shoulders, anyone really. I'm serving San Francisco and surrounding areas both in-studio and mobile. The goal isn't just relief—it's for you to leave feeling more like yourself. Less inflammation. Less joint and muscle aches. More energy. More ease.

Testimonials

My massage from JD was excellent. I arrived stiff and tight with limited mobility and left feeling lighter and relaxed. He's very well trained with skilled technique, and I especially appreciated the trigger point work and breathwork. The environment is tranquil and calming. I'm returning for frequent sessions to address deeper issues.

When my regular therapist canceled last minute, JD fit me in immediately. I'm extremely grateful because he's even better. His gift is extraordinary, and I'm thankful he took the time. If you want the best massage you've ever had, see this remarkable man.

I've been JD's client for five years and travel from Washington DC specifically to see him in San Francisco—he's truly that good. His communication is polite and attentive, and he fit me in during the busy Fourth of July weekend. His massage skill is extraordinary, and as he says, it's never the same massage twice. I drove over an hour weekly before moving, and it was absolutely worth it. From the moment you meet him, the energy is welcoming. He greets you with a smile and warm embrace that puts you completely at ease. His gift is remarkable; he's a gentle giant with genuine compassion. Treat yourself to his work and you'll never forget it. The floor experience is speechless.

Hemasseur's Take

Clients consistently report that JD identifies and resolves pain they've carried for years—particularly chronic back pain, knee tension, and fibromyalgia—in ways other therapists haven't achieved. His floor-based massage technique, combined with his ability to customize every session using multiple modalities, creates a transformative physical and energetic experience that leaves clients feeling fundamentally renewed and pain-free.

Testimonials emphasize his warmth, professionalism, and gift for reading the body; clients travel hours or book repeatedly because no one else in their region compares, and his studio environment amplifies the healing work with its calm, grounded energy.
