About

Deep tissue work has taught me something most people don't expect: the body remembers everything, and gentle hands can coax it back into conversation with itself. I trained in a wide range of techniques at the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork, the Bay Area's oldest and most respected institution, and nine years of practice has shown me how to listen with my hands.

Each person who comes to see me is genuinely their own world. I strive to see deeply—to understand what your body needs—and then deliver it with a rhythm that feels both firm and measured. Some days that's deep tissue work. Other days it's trigger point release or myofascial unwinding or something more delicate. The technique matters less than the attention.

I particularly welcome clients from the gay community and work with people from all backgrounds. My studio in San Francisco is on the ground floor in a pleasant neighborhood with fairly easy parking, and I also offer mobile sessions serving San Francisco and surrounding areas within a 10-mile radius. Whether you come to me or I come to you, you'll find a heated massage table, calming music, and the kind of care that comes from genuinely loving this work.

Text me if you can—I read texts faster than emails. Or use my Calendly link. When you reach out, just let me know whether you want in-studio or outcall, how long you'd like to book, and when suits your schedule.

Testimonials

Visited Tate for a mobile session after a work meeting in SF and fell into such a deep state of relaxation I actually started drooling. He also really helped with some persistent hip pain I'd been dealing with. Would definitely recommend.

FAQ

How much does deep tissue massage cost in San Francisco?

A 60-minute deep tissue session runs $160 in my studio or $180 for mobile, and longer appointments scale from there up to 120 minutes. I blend deep tissue with other techniques based on what your body needs that day.

Is there a mobile massage therapist serving San Francisco?

Yes, I offer mobile sessions throughout San Francisco and surrounding areas within a 10 miles of the city. I bring a heated massage table and music, and I work from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

What massage is best for hip pain?

Trigger point work and myofascial release are both excellent for hip pain, and deep tissue can help release tightness in surrounding muscles. I assess what's going on in your body and use the right techniques to address it—sometimes a mix works best.

Does Tate offer same-day appointments in San Francisco?

I'm available 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, and you can text or use my Calendly link to check real-time availability. Same-day bookings often work out, especially if you reach out via text.

What techniques do you use?

I trained in deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, myofascial release, neuromuscular, sports massage, lymphatic drainage, and ortho-bionomy. I blend these based on what each client needs rather than working from a rigid protocol.

Do you accept payment plans or sliding scale?

I don't offer payment plans or sliding scale rates, but I do accept cash, CashApp, Venmo, and Bitcoin, which gives you flexibility in how you pay. Text me if you have questions about rates.
