About

Swedish Massage Foundations at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland taught me the precision of the craft, but it's the four years working with clients here in San Francisco that taught me the art. That difference matters. In a classroom, you learn muscle anatomy and hand placement. In a studio, you learn how to listen to a body that's holding stress it didn't even know it was carrying.

I blend deep tissue and Swedish techniques because different bodies need different things on different days. Someone comes in tight across the shoulders after weeks of desk work. Another client is recovering from overuse and needs something gentler. I check in before we start, during the session, and I'm honest if I notice areas that need attention or places where you'd rather I ease back. That responsiveness—really hearing what your body is telling me—is how I know the work is landing.

I serve San Francisco and surrounding areas, working from my studio in the Marina and also coming to clients' homes within a 10-mile radius. I'm fully vaccinated, including boosters and monkeypox immunization. I work with everyone: clients from all backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ community, people in acute pain, and folks just looking to unwind after a long week. Safety and respect matter to me. You should feel completely comfortable here, or in your own space, knowing that you're with someone who shows up present and grounded.

Advance bookings help me stay organized, but I do my best to work with last-minute requests. Reach out and let's find a time that works.

Testimonials

Two days later, we're still talking about him like he's legendary. The moment he entered the room, everything shifted. Warmer. Softer. Calmer. Grounded and present, he carried a quiet confidence that put everyone at ease. He said little, just enough to check in, letting his hands do the speaking. His touch was skilled and intuitive, finding tension we didn't know we were holding and releasing it with natural rhythm. He understood the body deeply, knowing when to press harder, when to be gentle, when to pause. There was real safety in his approach. We left renewed, having experienced something rare. No one else has matched that presence since. Every so often during another massage, one of us sighs and says the same thing: he's good, but he's not Thiago.

Thiago gave me what I can honestly say was the best massage I've ever had. His technique was outstanding, and the whole session was deeply relaxing. He was professional, attentive, and made the entire atmosphere comfortable. I left in a state of profound relaxation that lasted for days. If you want an outstanding massage, I can't recommend him highly enough.

Hemasseur's Take

Clients consistently praise Thiago's skilled, intuitive technique and his ability to pinpoint tension and release it with appropriate pressure. What sets him apart across reviews is his presence and attentiveness: he checks in before and throughout the session, creates a genuinely comfortable atmosphere, and makes people feel heard and cared for—qualities that clients say have lasting effects on how they feel after leaving.

Many mention leaving sessions in a state of deep relaxation that extends for days afterward, and several note that he stands out from other massage therapists they've worked with for his calm, grounded energy and his willingness to be flexible with scheduling and responsive to individual needs.
