About

Twenty-five years of working with bodies—that's a lot of time to learn what people really need. I started out at Swedish Institute in New York, earned my master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from World Medicine Institute here in Honolulu, and studied Traditional Thai Yoga Massage at Sunshine Massage School. All those years and all those schools taught me one thing: the best massage isn't about following a script. It's about listening—with my hands, with my intuition—to what your body's asking for.

I'm Pono, and I work in my studio in Honolulu and also travel throughout the surrounding areas within 50 miles, bringing this work directly to you. My signature approach fuses Eastern and Western techniques. I blend Lomilomi and Reflexology with Shiatsu, Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Thai Yoga Massage. I'll work in Acupressure, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point therapy, even Watsu if that's what makes sense for you. Some sessions call for firm, grounded pressure into tight spots. Others need gentle, flowing stretches to improve flexibility and bring circulation back to where it's been stuck.

My goal isn't just to loosen muscles—though that happens. It's to reduce stress, restore balance to your body, mind, and spirit, and leave you feeling genuinely cared for. I'm approachable, grounded, intuitive, and I meet everyone the same way: with equal respect and genuine interest. Whether you're a local or visiting Hawaii, whether you speak Spanish or English—hablo español—you'll walk out of a session feeling like you've been in good hands. I keep my studio calm, with soft music, private space, a clean table, and water ready for after. If you'd rather I come to you, that works too. Feel free to text me to set something up.

Testimonials

After two overnight flights to Hawaii with a long layover, I booked a 90-minute session at Pono's studio without much information—just a leap of faith based on a couple of reviews. Jorge's hands found every sore, tired spot from travel and worked through them with strength and care. The space felt professional and welcoming. I rely on massage and physical therapy to stay comfortable and flexible, so I can say with certainty you won't regret booking with him.

The environment is genuinely calming—dim lighting, trade winds coming through, a sturdy table with fresh linens, and a private bathroom for a shower afterward. Jorge has the strength to reach into small joints and stubborn areas like shoulders, neck, back, and legs, yet he's gentle enough never to cause pain while isolating a muscle. He's licensed and trained in both Western and Eastern medicine, and he practices what he teaches. You walk away feeling cared for by someone who knows what he's doing. His sacral work was my favorite part—it's helped with migraines and sinus issues.

A 60-minute studio massage is $150. If I come to your home or hotel in the Honolulu area, it's $200 for the same time.

Does Pono offer mobile massage in Honolulu?

Yes, I serve Honolulu and surrounding areas within a 50-mile radius. Mobile sessions are $200 for 60 minutes, $275 for 90 minutes, and $350 for two hours.

What techniques does Pono use?

Can I book a same-day massage appointment in Honolulu?

I'm available 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. Text me to check availability—I often have same-day or next-day openings.

Both are the same quality work. The studio has a private restroom, shower access, and a dedicated space with soft lighting and music. Mobile comes to you—same skill, your convenience.
