About
My education at Winona State University grounded me in exercise science, and that foundation shaped how I see the body — not as isolated parts, but as an interconnected system. When I later studied Education Technology at Dakota State, I realized that learning happens through direct experience, through presence, through being truly met. That's what I bring to my work now, across 10 years of practice in Minneapolis.
I'm Alex, a massage therapist and nervous system specialist working with men who are ready to move beyond surface-level relief. What drew me to this work wasn't the mechanics of massage — it was the moment when someone exhales deeply and realizes they've been holding their breath for months. That moment when the armor comes down.
My sessions are rooted in Be Activated, a body-based method that works with your nervous system to unwind tension, stored emotion, and survival patterns you may have been carrying for years. I layer in deep tissue, myofascial release, neuromuscular work, trigger point therapy, and conscious breathwork — whatever your body needs in that moment. The pressure, the pace, the focus — it's all intuitive and responsive to you.
Clients often tell me the massage feels like a full system reset. Breath deepens. Body opens. Mind finally gets quiet. What makes this different is that I'm not performing a technique on you — I'm listening to your body and meeting it where it is. You're not here to impress me or prove anything. There's nothing to do but receive.
Whether you're dealing with chronic stress, postural tension from years at a desk, emotional fatigue, or simply need a safe place to exhale, I'm here. My studio in Minneapolis is fully accessible, calm, and equipped with everything you need to sink into deep rest. I'm open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, and I also serve clients throughout Minneapolis and surrounding areas with mobile sessions.
You deserve to feel good in your body. Let's start there.

Testimonials
I saw Alex today and without question he's the best on this site. He started by asking what kind of massage I was seeking. I don't like deep work, and Alex followed my preferences perfectly. He's professional, easy to chat with while on the table, and his hands are strong with spot-on, very relaxing touch. He was incredibly accommodating and patient before our schedules aligned, and I'm glad I waited to see only him.
Alex is very warm, friendly, and made me feel comfortable the moment I walked in. The atmosphere was soft and warm. He listens to his clients. His massage ranged from soft to firm and was very soothing to my sore muscles. Not rushed and I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
This was easily a top-three massage I've had from highly qualified licensed therapists, and I get them regularly. The pressure was absolutely perfect, and his conscious breathwork reminded me to also focus on my breath. The work felt very intentional, with clear responsiveness to areas that needed more attention. 10 out of 10.
I've had back pain for years, and after seeing Alex several times my back is so much better. He gives a thorough and relaxing massage and is respectful about adjusting pressure to your requests. After trying several massage therapists, I'm sticking with Alex. While he's big and strong, I prefer light pressure, and he's given me exactly what my body needs to relax and improve my low back pain.
This was definitely one of the best massages I've received. Very attuned to what the body needs and focused on muscles I didn't even realize needed attention. His massages help you breathe better and feel lighter. The 90-minute session is highly recommended.
Alex is one of the best massage therapists in the Twin Cities. He's great at finding trouble spots you may not even know about and working them out. I've been to him many times and appreciate that he doesn't assume you want the same massage as last time. He knows the difference between light, medium, and firm pressure, and I've found my permanent therapist.
As a distance runner dealing with soreness and stiffness in my lower body, Alex's approach improved my running and flexibility in the days following my session. I was especially impressed by the Be Activated technique mixed into the work, which really does have potential for significant change. Alex is intuitive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I've visited many massage therapists over the years and he's the best by a long shot.
At my first appointment, I shared some of my reasons for coming but didn't know how to articulate everything. Alex quickly built trust through his observations, active listening, and the quality of his touch. In my second session, he created a safe, non-judgmental space where I could release deeper trauma I thought I'd already processed. His massage is grounding and makes you feel connected to your body, and it's clear he takes excellent care of himself so he can show up fully for his clients.
Alex holds a space for me to be present and truly relax. It's a great way to meditate while receiving bodywork. We've added Be Activated techniques and I've noticed immediate grounding from this work. The addition has taken an already fantastic experience to a whole new level.
I've just had my first of hopefully many massages with Alex. This felt like more than a mechanical one-time session. It felt like Alex was working with me to achieve a level of relaxation, openness, and relief we don't often find in daily life. He showed me around his clean, private room with dim light and music. He offered a consultation to understand what I wanted, making clear his goal was to listen and meet my particular needs. He's passionate and excited about the work. During the massage he checked in to see how I was feeling. His technique felt like he was connecting with me and guiding my muscles to release tightness. I felt completely open and relaxed the entire time. He checked in again afterward. I highly recommend him.
I received my first of hopefully many massages from Alex. He was responsive from my initial inquiry through the appointment and followed up afterward. He was consistently professional while also friendly and personable. Alex shows care for his clients through his communication before, during, and after the session. He's highly skilled with strong yet nuanced and gentle hands. He checked in to ensure I was comfortable and enjoying the experience. He incorporated breathing exercises and stretching which elevated the massage. I'm ecstatic to have found Alex.
I haven't written many internet reviews but this is basically a public service announcement. I've had many massages over the years and Alex was certainly one of the most excellent and effective. I've dealt with low back pain and he used listening, intuition, and strength to work on the problem area effectively. The massage felt balanced and soothing for my entire body, and the firm pressure I requested was perfect. The environment is very professional and Alex is polite, genuine, friendly, knowledgeable, and unassuming from booking through finishing.
I liked that you did some different things today. Everything felt really good. The Be Activated technique mixed with massage made a significant difference. The trauma that was released and the subsequent shivering was interesting. The chronic pain that nobody has been able to help with is gone. Alex truly knows how to give the body what it needs, and he's shown me a different way to look at pain and what choices I can make.
Four months ago my body developed strong and frequent muscle spasms that began to control my life. Tests were normal and rest didn't help. A chiropractor suggested I try Alex. During a brief massage before an adjustment he addressed the spasm and it went away. I booked a full session because of that relief. I arrived stiff and tense, but during the session Alex taught me about my body. I left without pain, swinging my arms and smiling. Now I have tools and strategies to take control. My sleep and mood are better, I feel nearly pain-free, and my friends can't believe the change. When pain creeps up, I use what Alex taught me and feel in control.
Alex's massages have been very relaxing and comforting. His strong hands offer the perfect amount of pressure to work through muscle tightness while being soothing enough to create a relaxing experience. I've seen him twice and will definitely return. He's also very friendly, easy to talk to, and flexible with scheduling.
Phenomenal experience and very professional. Alex asks all the right questions to customize your massage to your needs. His pressure and experience created a great blend that allowed my body to relax and feel rejuvenated. I highly recommend his services and will be returning as a regular.
Alex is empathetic and one of a kind. I've been a recurring client for the past year because he creates a safe, trusting environment, listens to my goals, and intuitively understands my body's evolving needs. As someone in my mid-30s struggling with significant stress, chronic depression, and anxiety, Alex has played a critical role in my personal health and healing journey. I'm a better person for knowing him.
I was impressed from my first inquiry. Alex did his best to accommodate my schedule and was very responsive. He sent all pertinent details in advance and I was pleased about free parking. He asked about my pressure preferences, areas to focus on, and made me feel at ease. His slow, smooth strokes and perfect pressure let me feel completely relaxed while my tight body got a great massage. I loved the work on my back, upper back, neck, hamstrings, glutes, feet, and hands. The 90-minute session is worth every penny.
I booked a 90-minute massage and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. He adjusts from very firm to light touch based on your needs. There's a calmness to him that transfers to you. This man really knows what he's doing, and I'm making this a regular treat for myself.
Alex has a true gift. He released tension in muscles I didn't know existed, and I left feeling lighter, looser, and more connected to my body than ever. What really stayed with me was a moment near the end when he gently placed his fingertips on my head, and it felt like a quiet current flowed through me. My whole body seemed to exhale, and I was filled with deep peace and stillness I've never experienced from a massage before. This was healing, not just bodywork.
Alex's massage was very professional. He pinpointed the knots in my shoulders and hips that had been bothering me all month. The studio was very clean with a relaxing atmosphere. I almost fell asleep a couple times. I'm definitely going back.
If you're indecisive, nervous, or intimidated about booking with Alex, don't be. His massage experience is invigorating and refreshing, with noticeable improvements in range of motion and flexibility afterward. He provides comfort that relieves hesitation and anxiety, and he's intuitive, professional, and an expert at what he does. The 90-minute massage comes highly recommended.
Alex was fantastic at pinpointing my issues and applying multiple massage and bodywork techniques to relieve my pain. He has a calming yet firm touch, and the setting is professional and relaxing with soft music. I've been back multiple times and continue to recommend his service.
Alex provides a deliberate, unhurried, and comprehensive massage that results in an exceptionally satisfying session. Despite giving short notice, he quickly found a time that worked. His friendly, relaxed demeanor established immediate rapport. His outstanding technique addressed tension points quickly and effectively, and he was attentive to discomfort levels, applying appropriate pressure while communicating and adjusting in real time. Among many excellent massage therapists I've experienced, Alex is among the very best.
Hemasseur's Take
Clients consistently praise Alex for his intuitive, responsive approach to massage and his ability to identify and release tension in areas they didn't know needed work. His combination of deep tissue, myofascial release, and Be Activated nervous system work produces measurable physical results — improved flexibility, reduced chronic pain, better breathing, and noticeable postural changes — while also providing emotional relief and a sense of safety.
What sets him apart is his attentiveness during sessions: he listens actively, checks in throughout, adjusts pressure and technique in real time, and creates a space where clients feel seen and held. Many mention that a single session with Alex outperformed multiple visits to other therapists, and a significant number have become regular clients who credit him with transforming both their physical health and their relationship with their own bodies.
