About
Over 25 years of hands-on bodywork has taught me what real relief feels like. I've logged more than 20,000 hours learning how different bodies move, where they hold tension, and what technique works best for each person who comes through my door.
I started my bodywork training at FSM in Gainesville back in 2001, completing a thousand hours in massage and hydrotherapy. That foundation shaped how I work today. I studied psychology at the University of Florida and later trained in yoga at the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, so I think about the whole picture—not just the tight muscle, but how breath, posture, and stress live in the body.
My studio sits in the inner northeast part of Portland in Irvington, near Lloyd Center, where parking is easy and the space feels like stepping into a quiet world. I've invested in an extra-wide, heated massage table because comfort matters from the moment you lie down. The room is full of plants, there's a fountain for white noise, air filtration, soft music, and I use food-grade organic cold-pressed coconut oil along with essential oils and hot towels. It's a real spa environment.
I work with deep tissue, sports massage, cranial-sacral therapy, and relaxation work—blending acupressure, trigger point release, myofascial work, hot stone, and other techniques depending on what your body needs. Whether you're training for a race, recovering from an old injury, or just need to feel human again, I listen first and work smart.
I'm here 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, and I serve Portland and the surrounding areas with mobile massage too. Text me with questions or to book. If you'd rather talk on the phone, just let me know.

Testimonials
I'm a triathlete and came to Michael before a race. He was very knowledgeable about sports massage and did a great session to mobilize and prepare my muscles. It was a fantastic massage and I wasn't sore afterward, ending up doing great in the race. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend him to anyone trying to get the most out of their body. Very charming and funny guy with a beautiful, private space. Used hot towels too which felt amazing. Five stars.
I noticed hot stone on Michael's list and heard good things about it. It was probably the most relaxing experience of my life. I felt like melting butter and caught myself drooling twice. Michael is a very skilled therapist with a beautiful space. So many healthy plants, a water feature, hot towels, and walking through the hallway to the bathroom felt like a journey through lush aromatherapy and art. He must buy candles in bulk because it truly felt like a private spa. If you want a top-shelf experience focused on great massage, I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Michael gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. I'd never tried hot stone massage before, and honestly I now understand how butter feels when it melts. His space is gorgeous with so many plants, the smell was wonderful, and at one point I completely forgot where I was and started drooling. Definitely returning when in town.
By far the best massage I've ever had. I went three days in a row and Michael was able to get my shoulder, which had been hurting for months, to fully release. I was amazed and so glad I found my regular massage person. He was quick to respond and his space is beautiful and full of plants. Probably the most comfortable table I've ever been on too. Definitely reach out to this guy. So grateful.
Was in town visiting family during the holidays when things got stressful. I texted Michael to see if he could fit me in and he responded quickly, setting up an appointment for later that day. His building is easy to find, old and charming with big plants everywhere. The space is very private. It smelled incredible with plants and nice music on good speakers. He asked about my needs then washed his hands while I got on the table. I was delighted to find it was heated and smelled faintly of oranges. He gave me one of the best massages of my life. I forgot all about my stress and felt like I was floating on a cloud. Left feeling great and will definitely return when in town. Great guy with truly magical hands and a very warm, charming presence. He's also funny. Highly recommended.
Beyond pleased with my time with Michael. At first I thought it strange how inquisitive he was about me and my needs. He's someone who wants you happy and takes time to make sure he's the right fit for you. His place is in a historic building in Irvington near my favorite frozen yogurt shop and visiting it was fun. Lots of charm, huge private space that smells incredible. Lots of plants, great music, and candles. Felt like my own private spa. His work is the perfect balance between therapeutic and relaxing. His touch feels soothing and capable. He makes it clear the focus is massage but wasn't afraid to touch me and definitely got deep in areas of my hips I've never felt so thoroughly worked. I caught myself so relaxed I was drooling at one point. Beyond his techniques, he checked in about pressure and comfort enough for me to realize he's after perfection. I haven't had such a great massage in years and the ending left me in a dreamy state, pretty melted into the table and blissed out. Couldn't recommend more highly.
Michael has clearly been doing this a long time. One of the best deep tissue massages I've ever received. His strokes felt complete and he didn't seem to stop halfway through a muscle. As a triathlete, I'm grateful to find someone who does such thorough work. Will definitely be back and highly recommend him.
Right away I could tell Michael has years of massage experience. He's attentive, intuitive, and skilled. His approach is therapeutic yet soothing. He takes time to focus on every part of the body. Great stretching techniques as well. Calming space with light music, perfect lighting, and plants everywhere. I've been a client for a couple years now and will keep supporting his gift. Don't hesitate to book with him.
This guy is excellent. I was visiting from Texas and was pleasantly surprised to meet such a genuine and friendly person in Portland. He gives a fantastic deep tissue massage. I do CrossFit and he was able to address everything in a way that was both competent and very relaxing. Definitely coming back.
Really loved my experience. Michael was fast to respond and very friendly and thorough, asking detailed questions about my needs and any injuries. I'm now a regular and excited for my next session.
Had an excellent session. The space felt like a private spa and Michael was very professional. I didn't realize how much my body needed a real massage. I was in Portland for work and will be back.
I'm a returning client and wanted to thank him for adding hot stones and hot towels. Simple additions but wow, what a heavenly feeling. As a massage therapist with over 20 years experience myself, it's amazing to see his commitment to ongoing upgrades. I also noticed a new fountain for white noise. I literally drifted off and briefly forgot where I was until a hot towel brought me back. I've been dealing with nausea and vertigo on and off for years and heard cranial-sacral could help. Though it's different from massage techniques I know, he was actually able to help and the sensation went away for several weeks after my last session. This guy is great and on another level compared to most local options.
