About
Twenty-three years of hands-on massage work has taught me that bodies remember what minds try to forget. A childhood accident that left me in a body cast for six months, followed by physical therapy and ongoing treatment, gave me an insider's view of pain, healing, and what it takes to move through both. That experience shaped everything I do now.
I've spent those two decades working with clients across Phoenix and the surrounding areas, blending techniques to meet each person where they are. My foundation is Medical Massage and Deep Tissue work, but I love layering in Esalen, Swedish, and CranioSacral approaches so your body can actually relax into the work and get the most from it. I studied dance and martial arts as a younger person, and I'm still active in hiking, backpacking, cycling, and climbing. That means I understand the specific aches and restrictions that come with those activities. When a climber walks in with shoulder tension, or a cyclist with hip and lower back strain, I'm not reading from a textbook. I've been there.
I trained at BMSI in Overland Park, Kansas, and later completed advanced Medical Massage certification through Health Matters Seminars with David Morin in Hawaii. I work both in my Phoenix studio and mobile throughout a 10-mile radius, and I accept FSA, HSA, and HRA payments. I'm BBB accredited and genuinely invested in helping you feel better for days after you leave the table.

Testimonials
After going four years without a massage, I finally found the therapist I'd been looking for. Gene is highly trained, genuinely experienced, easygoing, and completely devoted to the work. He brings full attention to every session. I've struggled with serious back problems for years, but Medical Massage with Gene has brought real relief and comfort. He reads what your body needs and shifts the work accordingly, and I feel fantastic for days after. Strongly recommended.
My first 60-minute session with Gene was exceptional. He's a true gentleman with skilled hands. The whole experience—our conversation, his touch, the calm—left me completely relaxed in body and mind. It's a bonus that he takes HSA cards too. You won't regret booking with Gene. I'm already looking forward to coming back.

FAQ
How much does deep tissue massage cost in Phoenix?
Gene's deep tissue sessions start at $90 for 60 minutes in-studio, or $110 if you'd prefer a mobile appointment in the Phoenix area. Longer sessions (90 or 120 minutes) offer better value if you want more time to address chronic tension or multiple problem areas.
Is there a mobile massage therapist near Phoenix serving 85050?
Yes. Gene offers mobile massage throughout Phoenix and surrounding areas within a 10-mile radius, bringing a portable massage table, music, and the same professional care you'd receive in-studio. Mobile sessions run $110 for 60 minutes, $150 for 90 minutes, or $190 for two hours.
What massage technique is best for back pain?
Medical Massage combined with Deep Tissue work targets the root cause of back pain rather than just the symptoms. Gene specializes in this approach and adapts the pressure and technique based on what your body needs, often mixing in CranioSacral or Myofascial Release for full-body relief.
Does Gene accept insurance or FSA cards in Phoenix?
Yes. Gene accepts FSA, HSA, and HRA payments, plus all major credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, cash, and checks. Check with your plan to see if massage therapy is covered under your specific account.
What's the difference between Esalen and Swedish massage?
Swedish uses longer, flowing strokes to warm up muscles and improve circulation, while Esalen takes a slower, more sensory approach to help your nervous system relax deeply. Gene often blends both—starting with Swedish warmth, then shifting into Esalen's calming rhythm—so you get relief plus genuine relaxation.
Can I book a same-day massage appointment in Phoenix?
Gene's studio is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Call or message ahead to check availability, especially for same-day mobile appointments in the Phoenix area.
What's CranioSacral Therapy, and how does it help?
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that releases tension in the membrane system around your brain and spinal cord. Gene uses it alongside deeper work to help your nervous system shift into rest mode, making it especially useful if you're dealing with headaches, neck tension, or general stress.
